Embodying

Yin

A Movement Medicine Ritual for Nervous System Regulation & Embodied Freedom

Overwhelm is the accumulation of undigested micro-stress that the body never had the chance to complete.

Movement is the most natural way the nervous & fascial systems have to process and integrate these experiences.

Movement Medicine is how we help the body complete stress responses, expand nervous system capacity, rejuvenate the fascia and reconnect with our inner knowing.

In traditional wisdom teachings, life is understood to be a constant dance between yin and yang.

Yang is action, productivity, striving, doing. It’s the energy most of our modern world is built around.

Yin is the opposite polarity. It represents the slower, quieter, more introspective parts of life. Yin is feminine intelligence.

In Embodying Yin, we honour and return to feminine ways of being and doing, through presence, feeling, softness and learning to listen inward... and express outward.

Many of us today live almost entirely in yang energy ~ constantly responding, managing, performing, and holding things together for everyone else, but rarely taking time to return to ourselves and even more rarely to move the body in ways that assist her to complete stress responses, expand nervous system capacity, or reconnect with our inner compass.

Over time, the nervous system becomes stuck in this forward-driving mode.

The result can feel like:

• tension in the body

• difficulty switching off

• emotional overwhelm

• disconnection from ourselves, our deeper intuition and inner compass

Embodying Yin is a space to return to the other half of ourselves.

Through breath, gentle guided movement, and intuitive expression, we allow the nervous system to soften and the body to reconnect with its natural rhythm.

What would it be like to allow the body to move in the ways she needs?

That’s what we explore inside of Embodying Yin.

In this 60-minute online practice, we use breath, gentle guidance, music and movement to help the body release stress and reconnect with its natural rhythm.

This is not a dance class.

There is no choreography and nothing to “get right”.

Instead, we explore simple embodied practices that support nervous system regulation, fascial release, emotional integration, and reconnection with the body.

Together we will move through a simple, nourishing journey:

Breath & grounding to settle the nervous system

Guided warm-up to gently awaken the body

Intuitive / meditative movement guided by music and inner awareness

Optional reflection & sharing to integrate the experience

Camera on or off ~ both welcome.

No experience needed.

Just bring your body and a little curiosity.
